William Shakespeare is known to be worldwide a great English playwright, dramatist and poet. He was born on April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon and baptised on the 26th of April at the Holy Trinity Church in London. Common practice to baptize on the third day after birth suggests William`s Birthday is April 23rd. His father (John Shakespeare) was a successful glover and a Town Alderman.


His mother (Mary Arden) was the daughter of a wealthy landowner. William was Born into a well-to-do middle class family, not rich but successful in Business and respected in the community. He was the third child of eight. He was the oldest surviving son, because in the time Shakespeare was born, there was a plague going around called the "Bubonic Plague". This plaque killed so many people in the middle ages. It killed about one out of every seven people. Not very much is known about Shakespeare`s early years in life, known as the "Lost Years". The only way historians found about his early life were based on church records, and court settlements.

It was thought that Shakespeare got his education at a local grammar school called King Edward VI School Stratford-upon-Avon. Between 1585 and 1592, Shakespeare began a successful career in London as an actor, writer and part owner of the Theater Company "The Lord Chamberlain`s Men". At the age of 18, Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than Will.
They had three children: Susanna, and twins, Hamnet and Judith, but unfortunately lost Hamnet when he was 11 due tot he plaque.
