Hi guys!

"In the novel „The Pigman“, John Conlan describes the father mostly indirect through the conversation with the son and the thoughts of the son.
The father lives with his wife and his two sons in America.
He is almost sixty years old (l.19) and works in the Exchange (l.3).
The father tries to convince his son to work in the Exchange. In the line 23 and 53-56 you can see that he is very persistent. But when he recognizes that his son doesn’t want to work in the Exchange, he accepts that. We can see it in line 76 and 82.
But he is worried about the future of his son because he is fat (l.43) and to become an actor is difficult and unsafe. He wants just the best for his son and to work in the Exchange is a safely job because he is old and he wants that the son takes over his work. Look line 17-20. Although he wants just the best for his younger son, his son names him “Bore” (l.6).
Moreover he compares his sons and finds that the older son isn’t a lunatic because the older son followed his piece of advice and works yet in the Exchange (l.14). He insults his younger son with “jackass” and “lunatic” and “oddball”.
In line 67-69 you can see that the father loves his wife. He finds that his younger son treats her unfair and is fresh to her.
All in all I can conclude that the father means well with his son und therefore he accepts his decision to become an actor."

Danke im vorraus! xD

Macht soweit einen guten Eindruck!

"In the novel "The Pigman“, John Conlan mainly describes the father indirectly through the conversation with his son and the thoughts of the son.
The father lives with his wife and his two sons in America.
He is almost sixty years old (l.19) and works in the Exchange (was ist Exchange? Eine Firma?) (l.3).
The father tries to convince his son to work in the Exchange. In the line 23 and 53-56 you can see that he is very persistent. But when he recognizes that his son doesn’t want to work in the Exchange, he accepts that. We can see this in line 76 and 82.
But he is worried about the future of his son because he (Vater oder Sohn?) is fat (l.43) and becoming an actor is difficult and unsafe. He just wants the best for his son and to work in the Exchange is a safe job because he is old and he wants that the son takes over his position. (See lines 17-20). Although he just wants the best for his younger son, his son names him “Bore” (l.6).
Moreover he compares his sons and finds that the older son isn’t a lunatic (sehr ausgefallenes Wort, aber ok) because the older son followed his piece of advice and already works at (?) Exchange (l.14). He insults his younger son, calling him a “jackass” and “lunatic” and “oddball”.
In line 67-69 you can see that the father loves his wife. He finds that his younger son treats her unfair and is fresh (frisch?) to her.
All in all I can conclude that the father is a loving and caring person, who loves his son und therefore in the end accepts his decision to become an actor."
